Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026  ·  Effective date: May 19, 2026

1. What this Policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Placewave (operated by Boris Tomilin, Georgia) uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on placewave.pro. It complements our Privacy Policy and the cookie consent banner you see on first visit.

"Cookies" in this document means HTTP cookies plus equivalent client-side storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) used to remember information on your device.

2. Categories we use

Our cookie banner gives you granular control over three categories. Strictly necessary technologies always load; analytics and marketing only load if you opt in.

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (consent state, basic security). Always active. No opt-out — without these the site cannot remember your choices.
  • Analytics — anonymous usage statistics so we can improve the product. Loads only after explicit opt-in.
  • Marketing — placeholder category. We do not currently set any marketing cookies, but this toggle is reserved for future re-targeting if we ever introduce it. You will be re-prompted before that happens.

3. Detailed inventory

Name Provider Type Category Purpose Retention
pw_cookie_consent placewave.pro localStorage (JSON) Strictly necessary Stores your consent choices (necessary / analytics / marketing flags + timestamp + version). Without it the banner re-appears on every page load. Until you clear browser storage or click "Cookie settings" in the footer.
_ga Google Analytics 4 1st-party cookie Analytics (opt-in) Distinguishes unique users for aggregate statistics. IP anonymisation enabled. 2 years
_ga_<container-id> Google Analytics 4 1st-party cookie Analytics (opt-in) Persists session state for GA4 (events, screen-views). 2 years
Telegram WebApp parameters telegram.org URL hash & sessionStorage Strictly necessary Used when you open the in-app map/miniapp through Telegram. Not set by us; managed by the Telegram client. Until the WebApp closes.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social-network trackers or fingerprinting. We do not sell or share cookie data with third parties for advertising purposes (CCPA / CPRA disclosure — see Privacy Policy §10).

4. Managing your choices

You can change your mind at any time:

  • Click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page (or invoke window.pwCookieReopen() from your browser console) to re-open the banner.
  • Reject all non-essential categories — the site continues to work fully; only anonymous usage statistics stop being collected.
  • Clear browser data ("Cookies and site data") — this also removes our consent record. The banner will appear again on your next visit.

5. Browser-level controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies independently of our banner. Blocking the strictly-necessary category may break the consent flow itself, but the site will still load. See the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.

6. Third-party providers

When the analytics category is enabled, Google Analytics 4 receives your IP address (truncated), browser metadata and page-view events. Google acts as our data processor under GDPR Art. 28 — see the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. Transfers to the United States are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses with Supplementary Measures (see Privacy Policy §7).

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time (typically when we add or remove a service). The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will trigger a re-prompt of the consent banner so you can review the new categories before they take effect.
